Grief Support Group & Events

Hospice of Hope is pleased to announce our grief support and community outreach schedule for the 2019 calendar year. Each year the Hospice of Hope Bereavement team offers a variety of options to help our families and community best deal with the loss of a loved one. These groups and events are free and open to the public. As always, if you prefer a more customized and/or individual support, we can make arrangements to accommodate. See below for a listing of the 2019 events and support groups.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Join us in finding and providing support to others who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. learn about grief, its challenges, and the opportunity for finding new meaning.

Grief & Loss Series: 4-week educational program for those who have lost a loved one.

KENTUCKY (Hospice of Hope office)

April 9, 16, 23, 30 from 5:00-6:30p.m.

October 1,8,15,22 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

OHIO (Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley office)

April 9,19,23,30, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

October 1,8,15,22 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m

Spousal Loss: Educational program for those who have lost a spouse or partner.

KENTUCKY (Hospice of Hope office)

February 5,12,19,26, March 5, & 12 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

August 6,13,20,27, September 3 & 10 from 5:00-6:30pm

OHIO (Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley office)

February 7,14,21,28, March 7 & 14 from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m.

August 6,13,20,27, September 3 & 10 from 5: 00 until 6:30 p.m.

Men's Grief Support Group: Peer-led group for men who have lost a spouse. Third Monday of each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley office.

Ongoing Grief Group: Once per month Grief Group held at the Hospice of Hope office in Maysville and the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Office in Mt. Orab. Session are held at both offices on the last Monday of each month from 5:30-6:30.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Parent’s Legacy Lunch

An occasion to remember and honor our parents or other influential people in our lives. Guest speaker Liz Bonis, WKRC Health Reporter. May 4th from 11:30 to 1:30 at Caproni's Restaurant in Maysville.

Mountain Pathway Children’s Camp

Day camp experience for children 6-13 who are grieving the loss of a family member or friend. Camp offers children a chance to process their grief through sharing, art, music, and traditional camp activities. July 30th, from 9am-5pm with family picnic following from 5 to 6pm. Butler Christian Camp & Retreat Center in Hillsboro, OH.

Memory Bear Workshop

Workshop provides an opportunity to make a bear from an article of clothing belonging to a loved one. Use your imagination! Workshops will be held at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley office on September 14th and Hospice of Hope office on September 21. Both workshops are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Celebration of Hope – A Service of Remembrance

Join us as we celebrate and remember those we have lost in the last year. October 10th at 5:00 p.m. at the Hospice of Hope office in Maysville. October 17th at 5:00pm at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Office in Mt. Orab.

Hope for the Holidays

Workshops and memorial services to provide our communities an opportunity to commemorate the death of loved ones and gain insight on how to cope with the holiday season.

Hospice of Hope bereavement programs and support groups are free and open to the community. Individual support is also available.
