Caregiver Assistance
Caring for people who face serious illnesses is challenging, yet something that most of us would gladly do for our loved ones. Many of us want to face our final journey at home, and that means family and friends are the primary caregivers. The Hospice of Hope team visits the patient in their home seeing on a routine basis to assess, monitor, and treat symptoms. They teach the caregivers techniques on best ways to care for their loved ones when medical personnel are not around. Additionally, a team of clinical support staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone or in person to answer caregivers’ questions or even offer education on ways to best support the patient.
Respite Care
Caregiving can be mentally and physically exhausting. To assist the Caregiver, Hospice of Hope can offer respite stays. Respite stays are designed to give caregivers a much-needed break from the daily care associated with a hospice patient. Respite stays may be coordinated with qualified local care facilities or one of our Hospice Care Centers. These may be utilize when a caregiver needs to attend a family function, scheduled medical visits, vacation out of town, or just need some time to collect your thoughts.
Planning Assistance
In addition to working with parents and family to create individualized care plans, Hospice of Hope staff can also help with advanced care planning needs. From Living Wills to helping families with community resources, let our experts assist with taking some of this burden off the caregivers so that they can spend more timme on what is most important. Peace of Mind
Hospice care provides meaningful and compassionate care using the patients’ own wishes. It also gives family members the chance to spend precious quality time with their loved one, creating moments of joy and celebrating the life of the one they love. Many families have stated that they were surprised at how much they laughed and enjoyed the months and weeks they shared together.
