During a recent Kentucky Association of Hospice and Palliative Care (KAHPC) Conference, Kavin Cartmell received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Gretchen M. Brown Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes hospice professionals or volunteers who have dedicated their careers to forwarding the mission of hospice and palliative care throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is named after the former CEO of Hospice of the Bluegrass, Gretchen M. Brown, whose 32-year career become a true champion for the industry. Candidates for this award are likely retiring after many years of service in the hospice industry.
Kavin Cartmell added, “It’s with great honor and pride that I accept the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. With the help of KAHPC and my tremendous staff, we have been able to positively effect the lives of so many throughout our service area. I feel blessed to have been part of this wonderful journey over the 28 years.”
Earlier in 2019, Mrs. Cartmell announced her intent to retire from Hospice of Hope after serving the organization for over 28 years (26 as Executive Director).
