2017 Heart of Hospice Award

At a recent charity event, Hospice of Hope named Carla Story, RN, Clinical Training Facilitator, their 2017 recipient of the Heart of Hospice Award. This award is given to individuals who demonstrate compassion, dedication, and help to advance the mission of Hospice of Hope on an ongoing basis.

Stephanie Hopper, Director of Clinical Services for Hospice of Hope stated, “Carla is an absolute gift to the organization and one that cares more about the success of others than that her own. She’s a shining light, a bundle of patience, and a true champion for the important work we do”.

At any given time, walking the busy hallways of one of their office locations, one of their care centers, or a contracted facility, you can feel the energy follow Carla as she’s always teaching, educating, and improving the services offered to areas residents. Hospice of Hope employees live by the mantra statement of - “do what’s right, no matter what”. This mantra may be heard on any given day by any of the more than 150 employees but in 2017 Carla rose to the top.

The Heart of Hospice award could truly be passed from employee to employee or even volunteer to volunteer because each individual’s passion for caring for the patients, families, staff of facilities, and anyone else involved goes above and beyond each and every day.

Carla Story added, “I am very much humbled to accept the 2017 Heart of Hospice Award. As the organization’s Clinical Training Facilitator, I find great success and pride in the opportunity to help educate others so that they may be equipped to deliver the highest quality end-of-life care possible”.
